All users of the Senior Phase Benchmarking Tool (SPBT) should conform to the following protocol.
Schools and education authorities have made their data available to others in a spirit of co-operation and trust. Access is provided to assist colleagues in the delivery of their professional duties. Of particular note, users of the SPBT agree not to seek to identify individuals from the information provided, for which they have no direct professional responsibility.
Access to the Tool is restricted by password, and you should maintain the security of your password at all times.
Data in the Tool are provided to all education authorities and schools on the understanding that they will be used for self-evaluation, professional reflection and benchmarking purposes only and that they will NOT be used publicly, directly or indirectly, to draw comparisons.
Information in the Tool is held by the Scottish Government, and any person making a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 for this information should be referred to the Scottish Government, unless it is the school's or local authority's own data. Should any information be requested under the Act, the Scottish Government will use best endeavours prior to releasing it to consult the organisations or individuals who may have contributed to that information.
The Crown retains copyright of the Tool and other publications. As with all Crown Copyright material, users must acknowledge its source and must not use such information to mislead or to advertise a particular product or service.
